Hackdays Take Out

Like a goodie bag 🛍️ with hackathons inside!

This challenge is about making hackathons a portable and interesting method for opening data science to a wider audience: for example, in order to help support public involvement in understanding climate change, or supporting other kinds of digital civil society efforts. Help us to design a hackathon-in-a-box, a "goodie bag" with instructions on running your own Energy Transition Hackday, to enable more people to get access to easily deployable and practical tools. Look at some other platforms, or dig into the data below to make hackathons more awesome.

Data

If you would like to "take out" this hackathon, you can do so by logging in and clicking this export link. This can then be imported into dribdat, our open source platform, to run your own independent events. You can also ask us for help getting an export of any other openly licensed event and it's content, or just tips on setting things up in your own style.

We are also collecting data from 10 years of Opendata.ch Hackdays. This can be processed using machine learning techniques (NLP, Knowledge Graphs, ...) to develop insights into what kinds of hackathons and projects are out there, and support participants at future events.

All attendees, sponsors, partners, volunteers and staff at our hackathon are required to agree with the Hack Code of Conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to ensure a safe environment for everybody. For more details on how the event is run, see the Guidelines on our website.
